“The success of the image can only be judged by the reaction of the fashion buyers who commissioned the work. And they loved it!”

“Hi. I’m Ben Veasey, and I’m an Art Director in fashion retail with offices in London. I create logo designs and graphics for clothing brands and work on photo shoots to give product lines a distinctive “feel” or personality.
“A recent example of what I do was creating a brand for kids’ swimwear. Tesco needed graphics that were eye-catching and up-to-date. The design needed to create a sense of fun and vibrancy – to say ‘summer holidays’, ‘crystal clear waters’, ‘swimming pools’.”
“I also asked RH to research pictures of kids that would be suitable for in-store point of sale displays. The images needed to have a certain character and quality about them, to elevate them above what I would call ‘catalogue shots’.
“The Robert Harding researcher immediately grasped what I was looking for. The selection of images I received was excellent. As usual, they were able to tune in to the requirements of the project.”
“To be successful in this field, you need to be able to adapt current fashion trends and graphic or photographic styles to your client. For a supermarket clothing brand, designs need to make immediate impact. They have to be clear and obvious, because supermarkets feature thousands of logos, all competing. The success of our images can only be judged by the reaction of the fashion buyers who commissioned the work. And they loved it!”
